Earthquake disturbs Bohol today, September 27

Mild quakes rocked Butuan City in Mindanao and Bohol province Thursday, but state seismologists said no casualty or damage was reported.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the first quake was recorded off Butuan City in Agusan del Norte province at 11:45 a.m. Thursday.

It said the quake was tectonic in origin and registered at magnitude 3.9. The quake was felt at Intensity IV in Butuan City, Intensity II in Mainit, Surigao del Norte and Intensity I in Cagayan de Oro.

A second quake was recorded at 1:36 p.m. in Bohol province in Eastern Visayas. Phivolcs said it was tectonic in origin and measured at magnitude 4.

The quake was felt at Intensity IV in Garcia-Hernandez; Duero; Jagna; and Valencia, Bohol; Intensity II in Carmen, Bohol; and Intensity II in Cagayan de Oro City and Mandaue City.
