Bohol Paradise

ABS-CBN acquired the franchise rights to remake the TV series in the Philippines. Jasmine (the name used for Joo Yoo Rin in the Tagalog dub) will be played by Kim Chiu, while love team partner Gerald Anderson as Julian (Seol Gong Chan's name in the Tagalog dub). The series started airing on May 26, 2008.

I saw the preview trailer and it looks okay. Actually, I've seen the original Korean version of My Girl. But I've been waiting for the Philippine TV remake of "My Girl" starring Kim Chiu, and Gerald Anderson.

My Girl (Philippine TV series) is an upcoming drama produced by ABS-CBN starring Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Enchong Dee, and Nina Jose to name a few. It is a remake of the SBS Korean drama of the same title which is also shown in the Philippines last May 29, 2006. The series is expected to premiere Summer of 2008 said the teaser of ABS-CBN.

Anyway, it’s official now. Gerald Anderson plays Julian in My Girl Philippine TV series. He plays the love interest of Jasmine in the Pinoy version of the Korean hit drama series My Girl. I’ve seen some few fans of the series disagreed with the choice but I’m sure Gerald Anderson will do just fine.

I’ve seen the video of Kim Chiu when she was selected to play the role of Jasmine. The announcement came as a big surprise for Kim Chiu, the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Big winner. She couldn’t hold back her tears when she learned that she had bagged the role during Dream Big Press Conference. Well, I just want to say good luck to both Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson! Mabuhay kayo…

Plot

Jasmine is an imposter, proficient in English, Chinese, and Japanese, while Julian is the second generation heir of a big corporation. Because of his grandfather's illness, he is forced to ask Jasmine to act as his long-lost cousin so that his grandfather's last wish can be fulfilled. Therefore, they are both bound in a lie so that no-one in the family knows the truth.

Julian's intelligent ex-girlfriend, Anika who grew up in a rich family dreaming to become a world-famous tennis star, returns to Philippines after winning a title and works hard at getting back with Julian, thus causing both she and Jasmine to have cutthroat competitions for Julian's affection.

Casts includes Kim Chiu as Jasmine, Gerald Anderson as Julian, Nina Jose as Annika, Enchong Dee, Ron Morales, Regine Angeles, Cathy Gonzaga, and Gabby Concepcion.

I have seen the original Korean version of this series but I'm looking forward to the My Girl Philippine version or Tagalog version. I'm sure a lot of people, especially those KimeRald fanatic will be excited to see their new TV series.
